A few months back, I got a very exciting email from a colleague of mine at Yahoo! The conversation ended with a very cool offer: doing some writing to help promote the launch of “Cybergeddon,” a serialized web event created by the same guy who launched the “CSI” franchise.
“Cybergeddon” is a motion picture event, broken into 9 installments. The first three installments are live now, with three more debuting tomorrow, and the final three the day after that.
Cybergeddon follows the story of agent Chloe Jocelyn as she investigates a slew of seemingly unrelated cyberattacks with fellow agent Frank Parker and incarcerated master hacker Chase ‘Rabbit’ Rosen. Chloe and her team must crack the worldwide cybercrime ring led by Gustov Dobreff before it is too late.
Something really cool about working with Yahoo! on this was how widespread the distribution network is: that makes me extra-proud to have a byline on the site. “Cybergeddon” is available to watch online in 25 countries and in 10 different languages. For me, the coolest part of that is seeing all my recaps get translated into those languages: here are the French, German, and Spanish versions.
